Region : Zemgale
Municipality : Auce

Arms (crest) of Auce (town)

Official blazon

Sarkanā laukā melns vēzis.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1925.

Auce, called then Vecauce, was founded in 1843. It started to develop when a railway Riga-Mazeikiai was built.
In 1924 town rights were granted.

The arms show a crayfish, symbolising that the rivers around Auce were rich of crayfishes.
