Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted 1n 1967.

The small shield shows the arms of the Counts of Henneberg (a canting hen on a mountain), as the village was a longtime possession of this family. Later the town became part of the State of Würzburg, and the red and silver are the colours of Würzburg. The building is the front of the local castle, built in 1874 by the Counts of Luxburg.
