The escutcheaon shows the Cross of St. Achileus, the patron saint of the city, as found upon his tomb. The supporters are King Stefan Urosh Dragutin (Canonized as St. Theocrist, founder of the Arilje Church), holding the local church, and St. Achileus.

The banners are the flag of Serbia and of the city.
