Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on September 10, 1953. The arms show two typical local symbols. The beam was used as a tool by the so-called Hebladen-guild, a local guild of people hauling tree trunks from the forests. The bells are a symbol for the 10 o'clock ringing of the bells (Zehnurhläuten) which is a habit connected to the restoration of the town after the 30-years war.
