Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 3, 1992.

The arms show a typipcal stick. The origin or meaning of the stick is not known. It has been stated that it is an old stick used by the local judges. It is taken from the arms of the seal of the former Landscape (Landschaft) Stapelhorn. It is also the main symbol in the arms of the municipality of Süderstapel. The colours in the arms are the colours of Schleswig, indicating the fact that the Amt is part of Schleswig.
