German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 12, 2001.
The arms of the former municipality were first initiated in 1994. In 1994 the stork was the local bird of the year and was thus added to the arms.
The wavy bend is the Ise river, the crosier symbolises the formerly very important Isernhagen Abbey. The oak branch symbolises the oak trees in the area and is canting for the Hagen (hedge) part of the name.
Literature: Rabbow, 2003
