Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 5, 1930 and replaced the older arms (above left), which were used unofficially.

The old arms are based on the 17th century seal of the village (known since 1684). The bridge (Brücke) is a canting element, the meaning of the squirrels and the tree is not known. The new arms are based on the second seal of the village, known from the late 18th century. The left half now shows a milestone (Meilenstein), a canting element for Langmeil.
