Escudo de verde, anta arqueológica de prata, roda de azenha do mesmo, realçadas de negro e gleba de trigo de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ ALHADAS “.


Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 23, 2001.

The arms show a prehistoric monument to indicate the long history of settlement in the area. The green field and the wheatears refer to the agricultural character of the parish. The water mill wheel symbolises the traditional and modern industries.
