Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro em maiúsculas : “ FREGUESIA DE ALCANENA “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 13, 2000.
The crescent refers to the original Arab settlement, Al-Kaninan, from which the town developed. The two crossed keys in the chief are the symbol of St. Peter, the local patron saint. The hammers symbolise the local industries. The base symbolise the Alviela river.
