Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida
Additions : 1970 Alàs, Cerc

Escudo de Alás Serch/Arms (crest) of Alás Serch

Official blazon

Cortado: 1º de sinople, una iglesia de sable; 2º de oro, un trifolio de roble en perla con dos bellotas en cabrío de sinople. Al timbre, corona mural de pueblo. |- |English | blazon wanted |}

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 23, 1993.

The arms show a combination of elements for the two former municipalities. Alàs is symbolized in the arms by Santa Maria de les Peces, a romanesque church of the 11th century, and Cerc by an oak branch.

The oak branch is derived from the ethymology of the village. It's said that this name comes from vulgar Latin *CERCOS (and this one from classical Latin QUERCOS), "oaks".
