6TH INFANTRY DIVISION SIGHTSEEING SIXTH, US ARMY

History: Activated 16 November 1917 as 6th Division. Organized at Camp McClellan (Alabama) on 26 November 1917. Inactivated 30 September 1921 at Camp Grant (Illinois). Reactivated 10 October 1939 at Fort Lewis (Washington). Re-designated and reorganized 9 April 1942 as 6th Motorized Division. Reorganized and re-designated 21 March 1943 as the 6th Infantry Division. Inactivated 10 January 1949 in Korea.
