Shield: Gules, a tiger’s face Or affronté arraswise to dexter langued of the first.
Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Louisiana Army National Guard: On a wreath of the colors Or and Gules, a pelican in her piety affronté with three young in nest, Argent armed and vulned Proper.
Motto: TRY US.

Distinctive Unit Insignia. Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, a tiger’s face Or affronté arraswise to dexter langued of the first. Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed “TRY US” in Black letters.

Origin/meaning

The shield is red for Artillery; the tiger’s face is as depicted on the standard carried by the unit throughout the Mexican War 1848.

The arms were originally approved for the 141st Separate Field Artillery Battalion, Louisiana National Guard on 13 December 1938. It was redesignated for the 141st Field Artillery Battalion, Louisiana National Guard on 22 October 1943. It was redesignated for the 141st Artillery Regiment, Louisiana National Guard on 2 September 1960. The insignia was amended to correct the blazon of the shield on 7 November 1966. It was redesignated for the 141st Field Artillery Regiment. Louisiana Army National Guard on 14 July 1972. The Distinctive Unit Insignia was originally approved for the 141st Separate Field Artillery Battalion, Louisiana National Guard on 13 December 1938. It was redesignated for the 141st Field Artillery Battalion, Louisiana National Guard on 26 October 1943. It was redesignated for the 141st Artillery Regiment, Louisiana National Guard on 2 September 1960. The insignia was amended to correct the description on 7 November 1966. It was redesignated for the 141st Field Artillery Regiment, Louisiana Army National Guard on 14 July 1972.
