Origin/meaning

The knight in the arms is a Hungarian soldier of the well known 17th century cavalry, called "hajdu". The symbol means to personify the unbreakable and unbeatable spirit of the people of Ónod and it also remembers of the battles of the Hungarians against the Tartars, Turks and Austrians that took place close to Ónod in 1242, 1686 and 1703 respectively.
