The arms were officially granted on July 7, 1992.
Greytown Primary School serves the local Indian community of Greytown. The shield is partitioned per fess enchanced, nowy of an Indian cupola in allusion to the national and cultural origin of the pupils. The sole charge is a lighted candle in a chandlestick, representing the light of knowledge.
