- (1818) Van zilver, beladen met een struik, staande op een terras alles van sabel, het schild gedekt met een gouden kroon en vastgehouden ter regter zijde door een arend en ter linker door een beer beiden van keel.
- (1840) D'or à une demi aigle de sable parties d'azur aux trois fleurs de lys d'or, 2 et l, l'écu timbré de la mitre abbatiale d'or et de la crosse de même; supports; une aigle éployée à dextre, et à senestre, un ours muselé de gueules, le tout reposant suf une terrasse de sinople.

Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 29, 1840 and confirmed on March 29, 1979.
The arms are identical to the arms adopted by the Saint Ghislain Abbey in 1588. The Abbey played a major role in the local history for many centuries. The arms are a combination of the German Imperial Eagle and the French Royal fleur-de-lis.
On April 15, 1818 the town already received arms with a bush. The meaning thereof is not known.
