NO 216 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed at Manston in October 1917 as No 16 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service and renumbered 1 April 1918.

Origin/meaning

The Badge is based on the unofficial Badge used for some Years before the granting of an Official One. The Motto translates as ”216 bearing gifts”. The Badge was approved in May 1936.
