Deceased :

Bishop of Lugano, 2013-present

Arms (crest) of Valerio Lazzeri

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms show in the first quarter the arms of the Diocese of Lugano. The second quarter shows a Bible with the letter A and Ω, as a symbol for Christianity. The third quarter shows a harp, symbol for his motto 'Non impedias musicam' (do not hinder the music). The fourth refers to the birthplace of the bishop, the Blenio Valley ('valley of the sun') and the Brenno river.
