Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on May 11, 2023.

The upper half shows reference to the protestant (cross) and catholic church (devoted to St. Peter, hence the crossed keys). The base refers to the agricultural character (wheat and colour green) and nature (herons) in the municipality. The three wheateares are placed like windmill blades, a reference to the many (modern) windmills in the area.
