Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 23, 1979.

The area was a possession of the Chapter of the Cathedral in Freising until the 14th century. From the 14th until the late 18th century the village was a possession of the Counts of Baumgarten. The arms thus combine the lion of the Counts of Baumgarten with a crosier for the Bishops of Freising.
