Shield: Argent, a sword palewise Proper, entwined by a wyvern Gules garnished, armed and enflamed Or.
Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Idaho Army National Guard: From a wreath Argent and Gules, an elk’s head caboshed Proper.
Motto: Intrepid Deeds.
Distinctive Unit Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent, a sword Or garnished Gules, entwined by a wyvern of the like garnished of the second. Attached below the shield is a blue scroll doubled with a red diamond, entwined by a red wyvern detailed and enflamed, all enclosed at bottom by a blue scroll inscribed "INTREPID DEEDS" in gold letters
Origin/meaning
The sword and wyvern, adapted from the Idaho Military Academv, highlight the unit’s heritage. The wyvern is entwined with the sword to symbolize military preparedness.
The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was authorized 23 Mar 1998.
