ECHENEVEX

Département : Ain

Echeneve.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on May 4, 1992.

The complete arms also show a helmet, with as a crest a demi-lion holding a banner with the date 1834-Echenevex.

The base shows three hemp flowers, as the name is derived from the local word for hemp, chanvre in French. The chief shows canting elements for the Mont-Serrat family (mont=mountain, scie=saw). The date on the banner is the date the village became its own council.
