Département : Gard

Blason de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon

Official blazon

Parti: au 1er d'azur à trois fleurs de lis d'or, au 2e de gueules au sautoir d'or.

Origin/meaning

In March 1293 the town of Villeneuve-Saint-André was founded by King Philippe. This was later renamed to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. The arms thus show the royal fleur-de-lys, combined with the cross of Saint-Andrew (St. André).
