Arms of Krzanowice

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were (supposedly) granted in 1265 by the King Ottokar II of Bohemia, but this is very doubtful. The arms were confirmed on December 6, 2002.

The arms are derived from the arms of the Lords of Kranowitz that showed a ball with three daggers. One of the daggers was taken as the symbol of the city and later transformed into a sword. The use of the sword as arms of the city is known since 1651, when the arms appear on the city seal.

Unfortunately we have no information on the meaning or origin of these arms yet.
