Macanets.jpg

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'or, 3 pomes tijades i fullades de sinople acompanyades al cap d'una cabra arrestada de sable; bordura de 8 peces de sable. Per timbre, una corona mural de vila.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 12, 1983.

Canting arms: they show three "maçanes" (Catalan for "apples"). The goat Sable on Or, bordure Sable, is taken from the canting arms of the viscounty of Cabrera ("cabra" meaning goat in Catalan), to which the town belonged.
