Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 7, 1980.
The wing was taken from the crest of the arms of the Abreu family, as the family originally owned the lands on which the city now stands. The heart is a symbol for the nickname of Dourado, heart of São Paulo province. The base shows the Dourado mountain range and the Jacaré=pipira river.
The shield is flanked by coffee and sugar cane, the main crops in the region.
