BALDERSCHWANG

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Oberallgäu

Baldersc.jpg

Official blazon

In Silber über grünem Dreiberg eine dreilatzige rote Fahne mit goldenen Fransen und drei goldenen Ringen, der eine goldene heraldische Lilie aufgelegt ist.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 21, 1985.

The red gonfanon is derived from the arms of the Counts of Montfort-Rothenfels, who played a major role in the local history. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Anthony of Padua, patron saint of the village. The mountain in the base symbolises the mountains in the area.
