D'azur à trois besants d'argent; le besant en pointe d'un diamètre double de ceux du chef.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 25, 1845.
The meaning of the arms is not known. The arms already appear on the 17th century map by Pourbus on the Vrije van Brugge territory. On the map the three besants were of equal size, why this was changed in 1843 is not known.
