NAMSOS

Province : Nord-Trøndelag
Additions : 1964 Klinga, Vemundvik

Official blazon

På rød bunn et gull elghode.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 5, 1961 and again on October 21, 1966.

The moose was chosen as a symbol for the municipality, as Namsos is the capital of the forest-rich Namdalen, and the moose is the king of the forest.
