Origin/meaning

The Duchy was one of the partitions of the Duchy of Pommern and existed from 1376-1478 when it was re-incorporated into Pommern and again from 1569-1625. Since 1625 it was part of Pommern and later Prussia. The arms are a derivation of the griffin of Pommern.
