Origin/meaning

The bear is taken from the arms of the Freiherrn von dem Appelle, who lived in Gross-Midlum. The acorns symbolise a local rhyme " In Midlum stahn die Eckelboomen" (In Midlum are the oak trees).

Literature: Leiner, K. : Panorama Norden. Norden, 1972.
