Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1935 and show the banner of the Counts of Montfort-Tettnang, who ruled the area for many centuries until 1780. To distinguish the arms of the city from those of the family, cherry branches were added in the lower half. The area is known for its cherry orchards.
