Origin/meaningThe arms were granted in 1929 and are based on the oldest known seal of the village, known since 1719. The old seal showed in the upper half a plough iron and a grape-cutting knife, and in the lower a horse-shoe. The symbols indicate the agricultural character of the village. The whole composition of the seal was shown in the Coffee Hag albums, see below.
