Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1955 for Bjuv city and again on May 3, 1974 for the new Bjuv municipality.

The arms refer to the former coal mining in the municipality. The black field with silver pale refer to the mining shafts and the torsch symbolises the lamps used in the mines.
