GLOBASNITZ

State : Kärnten
District : Völkermarkt

Arms (crest) of Globasnitz

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 14, 1973.

The arms refer to the Roman settlement of Juenna in the municipality, which was an important stopover on the raod through the Eastern Alps. The arms show a small Roman temple, based on the temple for Jovenat Augustus, excavated in the village.
