Van azuur met de gekroonde Maagd, het Kind Jezus op de linkerarm vasthoudend, alles van zilver, op een losse duin van goud geplaatst, rechtshebbend ini de schildvoet een raap van het tweede, met gebladerte van sinopel.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 28, 1968.

The arms show Saint Mary, the local patron saint, accompanied by the beet of the Waasland region. For the history of the beet, see Sint-Niklaas.
