Borough of (Stadtteil von) : Karlsruhe
Origin/meaning:
The arms show an owl in a tree, making it canting (wood=Wald). The owl stands for the zoo which was founded in 1957 in the area.
The arms were designed in 1994 for the 25th anniversary of the borough, but were never officially adopted or granted.
