Escudo de Anglesola

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'or, 3 faixes viperades de sable. Per timbre una corona de marquès.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on may 20, 1994.

The arms are the ones of the barony of Anglesola, founded in 1079 by Gombau d'Anglesola (named Berenguer I). Later, in 1645, the barony became a marquisat. This is the reason of the marquis crown at the top of the arms. Gold and black are the colours of the county of Urgell.
