ENNEPE-RUHR KREIS

Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 2, 1937.
The arms show the chequered bar of the Counts of the Mark, who played a major role in the local history for many centuries. The two wavy bars symbolise the Ennepe and Ruhr rivers.
