WIEN-ALTLERCHENFELD
State : Wien (Vienna)
Origin/meaning
In literal translation, the name means "old field of larks", see also a Wien-Neulerchenfeld. The birds in the arms are thus canting larks. According to popular history, in the Middle Ages larks were caught in these areas.
Altlerchenfeld is now part of the 7th and 8th municipal districts, Neubau and Josefstadt.
