NIEDER INGELHEIM

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Mainz-Bingen
Incorporated into : 1938 Ingelheim am Rhein

Wappen von Nieder Ingelheim/Arms (crest) of Nieder Ingelheim
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are known since 1550, and have been used ever since. The eagle is the Imperial eagle, albeit with a silver filed instead of the official golden shield. The wall and the eagle symbolize the Imperial residence (Kaiserpfalz) that existed near the village in medieval times.
