Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 16, 1980.
The oldest known seal of the village dates from 1569 and shows a divided shield with the arms of the two families that jointly ruled the village at the time; the lions and bar of the Blick von Lichtenberg family, and the pale and buckles of the Boos von Waldeck family.
A second seal, known from 1756 shows the image of the local patron saint, St. Stephanus. The present arms show the arms as shown on the 16th century seal, and an escutcheon with three stones, the symbol of St. Stephanus.
