Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 16th May 1990.
The tower is a canting sign, somewhat forced, derived from Catalan "torre"; it may also allude to the former castle of the village. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of the Virgin Mary, the local patron saint, and the ploughshare is the attribute of St. Isidore, a saint to whom the village is very devoted, because he is the patron saint of the peasants (Tarrés is mostly an agricultural village: its main crops are cereals, grapes, almonds and olives).
