Origin/meaning

The arms were first proposed in 1995, but it took until 2003 before the local council adopte dthe design.

The blue saltire simply refers to the fact that the village is situated on an historcially important crossing of main roads. The golden house is a canting symbol, Beau-metz meaning 'good/nice house'.
