SALMSHAUSEN
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Schwalm-Eder Kreis (until 1973 Ziegenhain)
Incorporated into : 1974 Schrecksbach
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The above arms were proposed in 1956 and I am not sure whether the arms have actually been adopted by the local council.
The arms are based on the oldest seal of the village, dating from 1802. The seal showed a garb and some tools. To simplify the arms, the tools were removed. The image signifies the agricultural character of the village.
