Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 18, 1985.

The wavy blue and white line down the centre represents the river Kahl which runs through the community. Since the territorial reforms in the 1970s, the community of Kleinkahl consists of five villages: Kleinkahl and Kleinlaudenbach on the left bank, Grosskahl and Grosslaudenbach on the right, with Edelbach further away. The river, which has its source about 2 or 3km away, was a political boundary in medieval times.

The right figure is a drinking glass, recalling the medieval local industry of glass production. The red and silver are the colours of the State of Mainz to which the area belonged until 1803.

The left half shows the family coat of arms of the Ulners of Dieburg, an aristocratic family who lived in the area in the 15th to 17th centuries. The Ulners' arms were chosen to represent the Ulners themselves and also the families of Count von Rieneck and Count von Schönborn.
