BRAAK
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Stormarn
Amt : Amt Siek
Official blazon
In Grün eine erhöhte silberne Spitze, darin sieben giebelständige, um eine rote Lilie angeordnete rote Bauernhäuser.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 15, 1989.
The silver point in the green fields symbolises that Braak was founded as a village in the middle of the woods. The white point thus shows the clearing. The 7 houses symbolise the 7 farms that were mentioned in historical sources.
The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Mary, patron saint of the Reinbek Convent, which owned the area from 1310-1528.
