ISIDOR MARKUS EMANUEL
Born: October 7, 1905
Deceased: November 30, 1991
Bishop of Speyer, 1952-1968
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The rose in the base refers to hist birthday, October 7, the Feast of Mary as Queen of Roses. The rose also refers to the pilgrimage site Maria Rosenberg, where he worked for many years. And finally he was consecrated as a bishop on another feast day of Mary as Immaculata and Rosa mystica. The rose thus is also a symbol for St. Mary, the patron saint of the Diocese of Speyer.
The key is a symbol for St. Peter and the Catholic Church as such. The key also refers to Christ as saviour.
