Origin/meaning
The Canting Badge was approved on 29 July 1921. The Motto in French translates as "Desire has no rest", and is used by Lord Howard of Effingham who in 1588 defeated the Bulk of the Spanish Armada in an earlier Ark Royal then named Ark Raleigh.
