Karsava town developed in the 18<sup>th</sup> century. It was called Karsau in German and Korsovka in Russian.<br/>
Karsava town developed in the 18<sup>th</sup> century. In 1860 the railway St. Petersburg-Warsaw was built, and the Karsava station was a big impulse for further development. In 1928 city rights were granted.
