The arms are those of the family Scheck von Tautenburg, a branch of the Schenk von Vargula family, originating in Thüringen in Germany. The original Schenck von Vargula arms show the bends sinister. The branch Schenck von Tautenburg (after moving to the Netherlands, Schenck van Toutenburg) used the bend normally (see also Bellingwedde). But on images the arms of the Archbishop show again the arms with the bends sinister.
